The Peoples Bank is a locally owned and locally managed community bank serving all of Jackson County and its surrounding area with offices in Brownstown, Crothersville and Seymour. The Peoples Bank is dedicated to serving the needs of your hometown community. At The Peoples Bank, we know our customers by name and we consider them our most valuable asset. We are committed to maintaining the financial relationships we have established over the years.

The Peoples Bank is aware that Debit Card and Credit Card Fraud can occur to anyone at anytime, and for that reason, The Peoples Bank does have and has had in place tools and resources to prevent and detect fraudulent activity. If circumstances occur that require the verification of transactions or if action needs to be taken, the customer is contacted either by the Fraud Alert Systems or The Peoples Bank. If the customer is unable to be contacted a temporary block is placed on the card. The Peoples Bank takes the security of its customers very seriously and will always be proactive in trying to deal with the ever increasing fraud in the electronic payment systems.

As our customer The Peoples Bank asks that you help:

  • Please make sure your contact information is up to date.
  • Always balance and verify transactions on your monthly statements.
  • Report any suspicious transactions immediately.
  • Never let anyone have access to your card, PIN number, account or personal information.

If contacted by the Fraud Alert System:

  • They will identify themselves and state they are working with The Peoples Bank.
  • Information they would verify to confirm they are talking to the right person:
    • Name
    • Address
    • Last four digits of Social Security Number
    • Question you about recent transaction activity.
  • If you feel uncomfortable talking to them they will have you call us.
  • If you feel the activity is not yours the card will be blocked and you will need to call The Peoples Bank to request a new card be issued.
  • If for some reason the Fraud Alert System is unable to contact you by phone a temporary block will be put on your card, a letter will be mailed to you. An alert will be sent to The Peoples Bank and we will also try to contact you.
  • If any fraudulent activity posts to your account please contact The Peoples Bank Customer Service department to begin the Dispute process.

Don is retired as former President, CEO, and Chairman of the board with over 50 years of experience. He presently resides in Brownstown in the summer and Ft Myers, Florida in the winter.

Lawrence L. 'Jack' Montgomery (left) Senior Vice President/Operations & Marketing
Jack is based at the Brownstown location, but spends considerable time at branch locations. He has over 30 years experience in banking. He lives in Brownstown.

Robert M. Branaman (center) Executive Vice President & Trust Officer
Bob is based at the Brownstown location, and also has 30 years experience in banking. He lives in outside of Medora

Wm. Mark Norman (right) President & CEO
Mark is also based at the Brownstown location, is near the 30 year mark in banking. He lives in Brownstown.
